UltraLum, Inc. Gel Documentation and Analysis Systems
Overview
UltraLum, Inc. offers four families of imaging systems:
- Omega Systems: advanced fluorescence, chemiluminescence bioluminescence and in-vivo imaging and analysis.
- Discovery Systems: affordable gel documentaiton and chemiluminescence imaging and analysis;
- Explorer Systems: superior fluorescence, chemiluminescence and visible light imaging and analysis;
- UltraCam Systems: digital color camera systems for publication‐quality gel documentation;
Omega Systems
The Omega 10gD allows researchers a multitude of fluorescent imaging applications from simple ethidium bromide and SYBR Green Stained gels to GFP expressed specimens and QDot multi-plexed western blots. It uses a high-resolution 10-bit CCD camera.
The Omega 12iC is enhanced with the ability to detect chemiluminescent western blots with more dynamic range and in less time than film, accomplished via its onboard cooled 12-bit high resolution CCD camera.
The Omega 14vR utilizes a very high resolution, 4.2-megapixel, cooled 14-bit CCD camera to enable fluorescent and chemiluminescent acquisition of very small samples, including macroarrays, microplate assays, colony plates, and live macroscopic specimens.
The Omega 16vS has a back-illuminated, deeply cooled to -90 degrees C, true 16-bit megapixel CCD camera, which provides superior bioluminescent and fluorescent in-vivo detection of whole animals and plants.

The Discovery 10gD and 12iC Systems
The Discovery 10gD System includes a 10-bit, high resolution, 1.4 megapixel scientific grade CCD camera for publication quality documentation of gels, plates, autorads, and film.
The Discovery 12iC System utilizes a powerful, 12-bit, high resolution (1.4 megapixel) cooled CCD camera to acquire clean, low-backround images of western blots and other chemiluminescent assays in less time and with more dynamic range than film.

The Explorer 10gD and 12iC Systems
The Explorer 10gD System allows imaging of large gels, especially multi-tiered gels and autoradiography film, up to 25 x 40cm without having to cut or break into sections.
The Explorer 12iC System is a robust benchtop instrument that combines superb gel imaging with excellent western blot detection in a large format, inexpensive darkroom enclosure.

The UltraCam 8gD System
The UltraCam 8gD System features a powerful 10.0 megapixel digital color Canon camera that acquires publication quality images of ethidium bromide and coomassie blue stained gels and does not require a computer. The UltraCam darkroom enclosure is a sleek, easy access and compact design with internal white light illumination that fits securely and safely on most UV transilluminators.
